This project is live

This project started on 1 Jan 2025 and finishes 31 Jul 2025

This reserve was set aside in 1866; six acres for a 'botanical garden'. No gardens ever eventuated but being public land, the site has been saved from development and is a valuable tract of remnant vegetation within the Huntly township.
Our goal is to improve the extent and connectivity of native vegetation at the site and highlight this little-known reserve as a valuable peri-urban green space for biodiversity and community wellbeing.
During 2025 we will be planting 6000 ground-storey species, installing 20 nestboxes and holding 5 community engagement events at the site.
We'd love your help to get all those plants in the ground!
